Mmm...GH3 or Delos, dark AAT finish, black pickguard, purpleheart fretboard, Maple and ebony 5-piece neck...

How about making it all from Purpleheart?

That could be cool, but I don't have a particular dislike for my shoulder or back, so I'd stay away from a purpleheart body, I think.

Eh, it's not that heavy compared to something like Cocobolo or all Ebony.

Delos

Antique brown on mahogany, or clear on walnut.
Gloss
Red tortoise pickguard
White single coils with standard silver pole pieces
Chrome hardware
Maple/ebony 5 piece neck
Ebony board
Custom inlay: use the offset dot pattern, but only have one single dot at the 12 fret, on the edge of the fretboard. No other inlays.
Headstock to match the body
MOP logo

They did an Icon bass with purpleheart body wings. So, I think they are game for option 50 purpleheart bodies.

Between purpleheart body wings, tops, fretboards truss rod covers, control cavity covers and stringers in the 5-piece necks you could seemingly, theoretically, get an all-purpleheart guitar (if you stuck with metal knobs).

Not really related in any way, but I was reminded of these speakers sold at Fry's that were always advertised with a per-speaker price...and they seemed like an OK deal...but they were only ever sold in pairs.

Huh...there's a Zeus acoustic for sale on my local craigslist. Not in a spec or price that interests me, but...it still surprised me for some reason.

I just found this guy's craigslist ad amusing.

Wow, cool...flamed burl, and $600 off making it a $2200 when new guitar? And I've been looking for a way to make complexity easier...who knew the answer was to just add another string.

Image

Let's just check out the body close-up to see that "flamed burl", shall we?

...oh.

But still, if it's $600 off new, it's still a good price. Let's just fire up the old builder to see that $2200 build...

...oh. and this is the old version with the cut-off top, and the effecrively-recalled zero fret.

Hm, I see he listed it again. Maybe he's corrected the info--

Well, I tried.

[Edit] just find the in-stock listing

$1729 when new.

I actually sent him the GIS listing, as a "hey, FYI, if you are looking to sell soon, you may want to lower your listed price, since it sold for $1729."

He replied, and said the person he bought it from said it was $2200.

So, he had the guitar listed twice. Once with a $0 price, and one for $1600. So he updated the $0 listing, by adding "$1200" to the body of the email, but not in the a total price field, and didnt touch the $1600 listing.

I can say, with a pretty good amount of certainty, that that is a combination I have never seen.

I ordered some guitar wall hanging parts. The company had two product lines. One of them seemed fine, except for the people who had installation issues (and I'm handy enough to think I know what there issue was and how to avoid it). it looked a little cheap for what i had in my head in terms of the overall look and quality since we just remodelled the whole house...just want it to look really nice. The other product line was more expensive, but I couldn't find any reviews, or even any photos of it being used this way. Nothing about it screams that it shouldn't work, though, as long as it's made correctly, and protected enough for transit/shipping.

That said, the company's already once lied about the shipping...last thursday they said it was shipping "tomorrow", and then when i called to get a tracking number this morning, they said, "tomorrow" again.

Reeeeally hoping the product turns out OK, but their customer service is making my nervous. Between the wall hanging rail hardware, the guitar hangers for it, and misc additional hardware, shipping and tax, I'm at $450 for something with zero reviews the the part that gets screwed onto the freshly re-done wall. :|
