We've been clearly told here on the BBS to specifically not discuss the Carvin company, or its products, and to not really mention them by name in reference to the post-split era. FYI on that. We'll see if this thread is deleted or not.

I believe Andy is complying with rules a, b and c above. :-) If they go back into business, I want to get a VLD1 pedal. I would vote for merging the 2 companies back together. :-)

Tone King put out a video very early after the closure was announced and said that two of the kids from the "Carvin" side were possibly going to do something with pedals. Perhaps he was correct and this is things sort of coalescing? We'll know soon, I guess!

Still, for me though, the strangest part of the whole journey was when Carvin Audio became a dealer for another company's mixers. i don't remember the name of the company, but i THINK they might have been one of the only dealers for the product in the US. That whole situation seemed really weird.

Well, at some point it probably became a question of cost effectiveness. The flood of goods out of Eastern Asia turned the pro audio segment into a WAR ZONE. For 20 years now it's been insane, and it was pretty much join or die. Of course, the guitar segment is that way too. PRS, Gibson, Fender, EBMM, ESP, Ibanez, etc all have multiple factories in multiple countries churning out guitars to populate every price point in the market. And then some companies like Sam Ash have their own house brands they have being built overseas.

I remember when they were still making the Cobalt series acoustics. I have one somewhere. They were well made, but again, competition was stiff.
