JB5 Chambered vs. Solid Body

Postby groovinbish » Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:10 pm

Hello All,

I'm super stoked about my JB5 that should be done soon. Before I share the specs, I can't stop wondering how the tone is affected by chambering. I went with solid alder because that's what I know, but I can't help but wonder. Anybody out there had experience with both that can elaborate on the tonal difference?

Thanks guys!

Here is what I have coming:

JB5-----5 STRING 22 FRET J BASS
CS------CLEAR SATIN MATTE FINISH
GJM----GRAPE JELLY METALLIC
PH------HEADSTOCK COLOR MATCH TO B
RWF----ROSEWOOD FRETBOARD
IB-------BLOCK SHAPE INLAYS
IMP-----MOP INLAYS
6130----LOW-WIDE DUNLOP FRETWIRE
60J-----JB BRIDGE PICKUP, 60's ERA
VC2-----2 VOLUME CONTROLS, REPLACE
BC-------BLACK CHROME PLATED HARDWA
BG-------BLACK PICKGUARD
KL--------KIESEL LOGO
SL--------STRAPLOCKS BY DUNLOP INSTA
BL--------BLACK LOGO

Sounds like a sweet bass!

I've never tried the chambered body option but I remember Jeff saying it mellows the tone a bit. I've always been curious.
Kiesel basses, lots of pedals, nothing wrong

This is now in the GIS section, and listed as an Endorser Loaner? Wonder what the story here is...weird!
