I haven't ordered a Carvin/Kiesel bass for a few years, so when I saw the free chambered body incentive, I decided it was time. I have been wanting a 5 string P bass, and being a lefty Kiesel gives me great options. Looking forward to seeing the black limba :)

The tone color of their split pu WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. Seriously, it's insanely good.

I know I'm being dramatic, but it will greatly surpass anything you could imagine you want from a split pu. Really.

Awesome! That's what I'm looking for. I ordered active/passive electronics too, hoping that gives me a great range of tones. I checked out the demos on youtube of the passive tone of the P pickup and it sounded great :)

bhunt1,

I'm sharing your excitement and anticipation and reliving mine. My first Carvin was in the early 80s, second was in the late 90s and third (Kiesel) arrived just a few weeks ago (11/7, I believe).

I too ordered an Aries - 4 string and passive. No fancy woods, but it turned out beautiful. I was pretty sold on the SCP pickup, but gumbynotpokey pushed me over the edge. And it lived up to his claims. I often run the bass with that pickup only.

LOL! Just being totally semantic and good natured --- it is MORE than you are looking for. :)

It's simply got so much of the right amount of everything, and it's own particular bit of growl/bite. It is simply siiiiiiiiiiick as a split. And beyond. :) I LOVE THAT PU.
