SCB6 Club

Postby braekyn » Fri Mar 14, 2014 12:46 pm

Since it's a fairly new model, I doubt there's very many of us - Mine's currently in construction, and I'll be sure to post all kinds of pictures on NGD!

Here's what I have coming:

Diamond Pearl Body w/ Black Bevel, Back and Sides
Everything in Satin
Reverse Pointed 3/3 Headstock, All Black [Edit: After seeing Photoshop builds, I have changed this to a white headstock!]
Black Hardware - Floyd Rose, w/o Locking Nut
Mahogany Body, maple top-wood, 5-piece all-maple neck
14" Black Ebony Fingerboard, Mother-Of-Pearl Signature Inlays
Stainless Med-Jumbo Frets
Black S22 B/J Covered pickups
Phase Switch

[Edit] Evster2012 was awesome enough to Photoshop an estimate of what I'm waiting on:

I'm curious as to what the rest of you did with yours! Post away!

If I didn't already have a single cut HH guitar, this would be in the running for that spot.

I gotta say, though, my favorite so far has been one of the early ones with just the sunset burst finish on flamed maple WITHOUT the BBE option.

Dang, yours is sexy, though, JCG!

SCB6 = SC90 Bevel :?

No question it's a killer update of the SC90, just not really a new model, just new edges. I vote this 'model' belongs in the SC90 Club. Calling a guitar with only one new cosmetic option a new model is a pretty long stretch

My SC90C is more of a different 'model' (SC90/145C) with opt. 50's than a bevel edge SC90. But it's still an SC90. I think they kinda blew the 'new model' designation when the B 'bevel' option could be transferred to other models and just become an interesting choice of build variety if feasible on the model, TL60 and TLB60, maybe C66 and Bolt Plus etc. . Actually the latter two are another 'stretch' on model designations. C66 = Bolt Plus Figured Top/BBE  Different model? Not really.

With all due respect Roy Munson, while the argument can be made either way, I own an SCB6 and not an SC90 so I'm feeling right at home here. For those few of us who now own one of these (and mine might have been the first one shipped), we know what we got ... a really killer great playing comfortable guitar. :stir:

To me the bevel and the color contrasts that will evolve provide plenty of justification for this club's exclusivity. The SC90 was never even on my radar as a possible purchase. My thought on "clubs" here is that if it's listed as a separate model on the builder then it's entitled to have its own club.

It would be like saying the ST and DC clubs could be lumped together. Sacrilege!

Its own club is well deserved IMO.

Please keep them out of my beloved SC90 Club

That's a bit off I'm thinking  . More like saying they belong in CLub SC ala the Club DC. I mean come on it's like saying the DC145 is a NEW model when a DC is a DC. They're all derivative DC125/127/135/145, which are just as or more different from each other than an SC90 to a SCB6. Same guitar. Marketing Schmarketing, i give :?

Nobody was calling the SC90 with flat-top a different model when rounded sides were standard and non-rounded was optional. but whatever ,.... own club

^^^ This is killer btw, all debate about models aside. And I confess to some jealousy in fact  :D :D ! My SC90/145 hybrid would love to have those bevels!!! Missed that by about two years! But the BBE flat-top (they wouldn't even do bent top at the time for the BBE on mine), is still very playable and has that tele-like flat-top edge.

Congrats on this one though love the bare naked look and Floyd :applause:

True...but also remember: the ST is simply based on the "ST" body shape option for the DC line from back-in-the-day.

Every new one I see makes me fall more and more in love with the design! I'm going insane waiting for mine! At least I have a new bass to keep me entertained woke I wait.

...

Is anyone else thinking an SCB Bass would be phenomenal?!

I figured I'd move my pictures over to this thread. The SCB6 IMO does deserves it's own thread because there's certain aesthetic options you can get out of the bevel that you can't get out of a SC90. The SC90 is also a great guitar choice too.
