This is my 6th DC7X, and the specs are the same as my 5th except for the fretboard: FMF instead of BMF (I couldn't quite bring myself to order two absolutely identical guitars

Compared to #5, the ash on #6 isn't quite as striking, but the flame maple fretboard is amazingly beautiful - well worth the extra $100. While I ordered both guitars with the same tone delete/vol-to-tone option, on #6 it's about ½" forward compared to #5 (as long as it's out of the way, I don't mind). The finish on #6 it subtly different, not the colour, but the topcoat. I seem to remember Jeff on a recent video saying they'd changed their satin finish, perhaps it's that. It seems ever so slightly opaque and to reflect more light. I found it very hard to photograph (as you will see below). Either way, I love it every bit as much as #5. If I were good enough & famous enough to have a signature model, this would be it
