NBD Aries 5 Bass

Postby bhunt1 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 6:06 pm

Just got this today! Really pretty top will take pics when we get some sun here but in the meantime here is the first song I played on this:

https://youtu.be/4gm1k3U4WFI

Tone is great - P pickup is the bomb. This is the 4th Carvin/Kiesel bass I have ordered, and I have to say the quality has been first rate on all of them, and the action and setup is always perfect right out of the box. Very pleased with the bass :)

Thanks! Ash body, black limba top, chambered body, ebony board, P pickup and radius humbucker. I will get some pics up this weekend - the top is really nice :) Very pleased overall.

Always nice to see lefty basses. I have a lefty AB4.

Really good tone on your video. Is your bass active? And what pickup/tone settings are you using there?

Thanks. Yes active. I had it in active mode, pickup blend in the center, slight boost on bass and treble.

Thanks for the info. Your bass has some nice growl to it.

Very nice! At first I thought the top was walnut, but that’s a fine slab of limba. Congrats and enjoy

Great looking and sounding bass. It turned out beautifully. Thanks for the YouTube clip and those excellent pics. That limba and swamp ash show some great grain. How heavy is your new bass? It's a real beaut. :coolpics:

Thanks for all the nice comments. The bass is in the 9 lb range - it has a chambered body. The ash and limbs are quite beautiful :)
