Well, that's got to be a non returnable. And even if they
didn't get them in the right place, probably still not returnable.
I would have no problem drilling it out, then have someone else wire it.

I would just route each pickup to a separate channel of a stereo output jack, then do all the blending/EQing/fading work outboard and leave that gorgeous top unblemished.
OK well, to be completely honest, I wouldn't.

If you're a studio musician, I could understand the appeal if the cleanest, least-effected signal you can get from an instrument to do all of your eq and effects later, wither with reamping, DAW plug-ins, etc etc. Sort of like shooting photos in .RAW.

Great analogystill a strange setup haha
Definitely strange, owing to the oddball "main" pup selection it will default to.
In terms of purity of circuit for the best possible sound, there's no question that this is very important when constructing something with the aim of attaining the purest tone possible.
People lament the lack of footswitching or an FX loop on the Merc, but these are purposely left off of the amplifier to keep the P2P circuit as uncorrupted as possible. The results on this badboy speak for themselves--

Re: Pics from Kiesel/Carvin's social media
I found out yesterday that there's a @kieselguitarsshowroom instagram account, and apparently Zakk runs it (or at least he will until he goes back to school)
This raw tone jet black Aries would look super cool in gloss black, too, and I'm not really a gloss black kind of guy.
Vader bass with BRG top, White back and sides and...pink diamond inlays. Yep.

Weird aries control setup - think that vol pot is push pull for coil splits?

Re: Pics from Kiesel/Carvin's social media
Lots of guys delete the tone pot nowadays. Roll offs aren't really much of a thing, especially in the whole "djent"/AAL/modern prog world.
Even just having 1v/1t wigs me out on a double humbucker guitar. That center position has so many tints and shades when modulating one pickup versus the other. I'm not even discussing tone roll offs, but rather the interplay of two volume knobs on a traditional Gibson control setup, when in the middle switching position.
But hey, my guitar DNA was programmed by Gibson since I first started playing, back when woolly mammoths and sabre tooth tigers roamed the volcanic Earth!

Exactly why my incoming CS is 2v2t

I like the Evertune Crescent above, it's pretty classy with the plain top and perimeter burst, very classy.

Gott-DAYum.

Mein GOTT! That's pretty flinkin sweet.
I wonder, since the guitar is so light and thin to begin with, if he could have had them build it all out of one slab, which they just carved the "top" bevel into like they do with the other "topless" variants of these and Aries, etc.

That CT is nice, reminiscent of PRS' black gold finish.
