HB2/H50A wiring question

Postby LordCalvin » Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:32 pm

Hello,

I ordered a custom bass with H50A neck pick-up and HB2 bridge. The wiring instructions seem to have multiple configurations, but I would feel better ensuring I have this right.

So, I wired the H50A's black and shield wires together to the top of the pot and the red lead to the center lead on the pot. I believe that is correct.

The HB2 has red and white pre-soldered together and apparently the green and shield can be soldered together to ground, which is the copper lining, correct? So does the black go to the top of the pot and the red/white to the middle lead on the other pot, or does the black go to the middle lead?

Thanks in advance. Loved building it out so far. Can't wait to play it.
Cheers,
Bryan

UPDATE: I got it working.

The confusion was that the BK5 came with a bunch of wiring diagrams, and none of them were completely what I had.

For the HB2 bridge pickup, I soldered the green and shield together and to the back of the pot. Then I soldered the black hot wire to the middle lead of the pot, and just taped the already-soldered-together white and red leads.
