fretboard markers

Postby talcoserve@yahoo.com » Wed Mar 06, 2019 3:06 pm

Would the Kiesel folks add some fretboard markers onto a Carvin bass that has none?

Likely not. They aren't really set up to do anything beyond warranty repairs.

There are some great looking decals out there, though.
Most can't be discerned as stickers except by very close examination.
If I was looking to add or modify the inlays on any of my instruments, I'd start with the high quality decals.

Just food for thought.

A good point! I have some "tree of life" style stickers, and while they are just on my nylon string, have held up pretty well over...I think about 5 years.

Kiesel drills the holes for the markers via CNC, before the fretboard is ever bonded to the instrument. They basically don't do any other sort of inlay work.
