Honestly adding metal inserts to use bolts instead of screws isn't too bad as mods go. Measure depth, drill a little bigger, put in an insert and . . . that's about it.

UnexplodedCow - Yours looks like the back of mine, As long as the joint is tight is what makes all the difference with a bolt-on neck...

HarlowTheFish - I like metal inserts, I installed them on my last guitar to increase the clamping force...

Well, happy belated.

Oh, and I had a spare set of inserts and screws, so put them in my blue guitar. Result...a little more sustain and fullness, as expected. Harmonics seem better. I can only think to add an inductor to the tone control to make it any more versatile.
We are entitled to our own, wrong, opinions.

Guitar theorem: G=X+1 where G= guitars one needs, and X = guitars one has.

Do or do not; there is no understand.

Well, it's a very sad day today as my dog died last night :(

That was quick! I like that, You decided to do it and it's done!

I really never liked the idea of wood screws holding the guitar neck on, What type of inserts did you use, the brass type or the steel type, I've seen both...
