All 3 and 5-way blade switches now supplied by Oaks Grigsby

I never had a problem with Kiesel's blade switches, but they've said it's just a higher quality switch (and more expensive).

Jeff mentioned these switches are used by Fender's custom shop, PRS, etc.

Easier to rewire too, because basically every diagram uses an OG-ish layout. The regular Kiesel switch up until now has been the boxy kind with the contacts on top, right? Translating a diagram to those can be a pain.

That's good news in my book. Wonder if they are considering full-size pots too, but on the other hand they have way too many control cavity patterns with no internal clearance for anything other than minis. Using Switchcraft jacks again like they used to, instead of those boxed plastic jacks they use now, would also be a win.

I'm the opposite, as I kinda got used to the Carvin/Kiesel layout. The Fender switches always throw me. I googled OG and they look like the more "open" classic design. But the common thing is they both seem to have 2 common lugs and a lug for each of the 3 positions (well, bridge / mid / neck). Unless they're going "super-switch" with a lug for all 5 (or, still 3) positions?
I bet another advantage is you can source them from other places if need be.

I'm starting to swap all mine out for the Pure Tone Multi-Contact jacks. Stew-Mac has them for about the same price as a Switchcraft.

Great to see that they are constantly improving :applause:

Not that the asian made electronic parts they use(d so far) are bad, but their US made counterparts in my experience are much more durable over years of heavy use

I agree. Cant say I've had any problems with their 3 or 5-way, but my Strat switch and superswitches I've used seem more "solid".

For a while, they used the same type of blade switches found in American made Fenders, as I have an all-original TL60 that has the large lug type of switch, using rollers, a coil spring, and detents. Nothing like the (frankly, cheaper) plastic box switches.

Oak Grigsby has been a prime choice when I've replaced switches, and they've always been reliable. Plus, they make the oddball 4 way switch for a Tele (to allow series coils).

Guitar theorem: G=X+1 where G= guitars one needs, and X = guitars one has.

Do or do not; there is no understand.
