Put the Solo bass on the site for purchase

Postby Toptube » Wed Feb 05, 2020 5:43 am

Hey Kiesel.

Recently, there have been some discontinued models. Older and newer, alike. I understand it and I'm sure you are aware that there has been a fair bit of discussion about this.

Something which really sticks out to me, is that the Solo bass is not listed on the website at all. Let alone, for custom purchase. It has standard, multiscale, and a sig model. But they don't exist?

After a wave of discontinued models, I am afraid you are dooming this model, before its even gotten started. I know Jeff likes to joke about the state of the website. But....omitting an entire model seems pretty big, to me. Especially after debuting the sig version at NAMM.

I had actually forgotten the MS version even existed, until a semi-recent photo popped up on Facebook.

When it was first launched, it was said that it was really just made for a friend, and they wanted to make it available to people who really wanted it. They didn't feel like it represented the brand well, mostly due to neck dive, so they didn't put it on the Web since the model itself wouldn't come with the 10 day trial, in any configuration.

I was definitely surprised that they made and announced a signature model, and even brought one to NAMM but then still didn't make it a regularly available model.

I don't remember that info at all! I must have missed that video...

Well...that's confusing!

Also, this one doesn't say "non-returnable".

Because kiesel says one thing and does another all the time. Yeah, I don't get it either. :laughhard: "Raw tone is a non-returnable option...oh, unless you get it on a JH6 or MO7."

I love my Solo bass! It's my very first Kiesel, and I'm completely sold on the brand. It is a little neck heavy, but honestly it's not THAT bad. I have the same fears that it will be discontinued because nobody knows about it. Mine has the P/J configuration, but I'd love to get a J/J as well some day (after I get an SCB6 and CC275 first though :D).

I posted the picture from the FB pics of the day in the bass forum, but here's some I took on my own.

5pc Maple neck, Alder body, and a 5A top upgrade. The back is all blacked out (including the neck). I'm guessing that I've got the only one with a bevel too. I love it. Fit and finish were perfect. I was a little nervous buying my first Kiesel with several option 50's, but I couldn't be happier with it.

Wow!

I definitely have not seen that!

I do remember reading a post about a beveled solo bass...Maybe when you ordered it. :stir:

I know right?!? I figured if the Solo bass was on the website, mine had a decent chance of making the gallery. It'd be like making the hall of fame :D .

Wow I had no idea this model was even a thing! I'd love to see one with six strings. I like the body style a lot.
