I received my new Zeus multiscale bass about a week ago and changed my strings. Being my first headless, performing a string change was quite a different task from my past 25 years of typical routine. The screw retainer thingy bits that secure the strings to the headpiece seem like an easily losable, but essential component. I've never broken a string on a gig, but I'd hate to have to do so in a hurry in a dark bar with this system. I do like the design and it's an impressive engineering feat. I called Kiesel and asked to order some replacement retainer screws. Chris politely explained that they receive the entire headpiece assembly from Hipshot and don't stock spare screws to sell. So I emailed Hipshot, offering to pay whatever is necessary and understand any delays. They explain on their website that due to Covid, their inventory and service are severely affected due to NY closures. I received an email today saying that they're sending me replacements at no charge. I just wanted to share a positive service experience. Kiesel also sent me a replacement preamp for my Vanquish multiscale bass shortly after received it 3 years ago today. Again, no charge, no fuss. Just a quick, free, legitimate remedy.
