5 piece mahogany with maple stripes neck

Yeah, every so often some get trimmed, and I think that was one that didn't make a recent cut. In general, they seem to be backing out of most mahogany options. Jeff's mentioned he doesn't really like it as a neck wood, but offers it as a one-piece since it's what people expect on models like the CT and CS. There's no more 3 or 5 piece options that have any mahogany. One of the two 7 piece options does, but it's not the primary wood; just two stripes.

Yeah, the way things come and go around here.

The 5H was my favorite neck. I have 3 of them. The last one was built after they switched from plain sawn to quarter sawn. While I am sure it makes for a stronger neck, I much preferred the look and feel of the mahogany plain sawn. That said, all of the necks have been rock solid for me.

Maybe if you call in, you can still get one. Won't hurt to ask.

I find it a bit odd that out of the zillions of options Kiesel does offer, that one seemingly common and popular one that Jeff doesn't like (if in fact, that's the case) gets the boot.

Those are nice to have if you wanna have a neck-thru with Mahogany wings. My 727 has it.
