Active Electronics on Carvin LB75 not working

Postby jhaxton » Wed Sep 16, 2020 12:03 pm

I'm hoping for some help troubleshooting a "no output" situation on my LB75. I'm the original owner, so I know the electronics haven't been messed with. I had intermittent issues with losing output with the active switch engaged for a short time. That transitioned quickly to no output at all when in active mode. Any advice on how to troubleshoot or fix the issue?

I am hoping that since it was intermittent before it stopped entirely that I may not need a new preamp.

Thanks so much!

Or, just bite the bullet given NO support for Carvin and start your discreet wiring to split the pups and in/out phase.

This gets you close . . .

Update: After well over a decade without the active EQ working, I took a chance and did something crazy. I cleaned the push-pull pot/switch. You know what? That's all it needed. Doh!

 Well, hey...I once built a brand new computer, and used it for 3 years disappointed by the performance, and it turned one that after moving it to our new home, somehow the monitor got plugged into the motherboard instead of the actual graphics card. :wall:
